About

Ofra Markowitz

Ofra Markowitz, M.A., LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York and New Jersey who provides therapy for individuals, couples, and families. Her clinical foundation began at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she earned an M.A. in Clinical Psychology, followed by a Master of Social Work from New York University.

Throughout her career, Ofra has studied neurobiology and behavior, with a particular focus on neuroplasticity: the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections. Her practice brings a whole-body perspective to that work. She integrates the gut-mind-brain connection with mindfulness-based methods to help clients reach a more grounded, balanced state of health.

Ofra holds a Certification in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research and offers Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), helping clients move through deep-seated psychological patterns and find relief when traditional methods have fallen short.

Her clinical experience spans inpatient psychiatric units, schools and adolescent care, assisted living facilities, and private practice. Born and raised in Israel, she has lived in the United States for more than 30 years, and she brings a deep understanding of multicultural life, immigration, and relocation to her work. She offers therapy fluently in both English and Hebrew.

“Building a strong, authentic relationship is the essence of successful treatment.”
