My approach to treatment is an interpersonal--relational psychotherapeutic approach and draws from my psychodynamic training, as well as the latest scientific research and evidence-based interventions to achieve goals decided upon in the treatment. I believe in managing the presenting problem, you must feel safe, not judged, and related to in a professional and personable manner. My approach is collaborative, and I value the connection and relationship that we co-create to help you make positive shifts in your life. I have great respect for the healing power of therapy and believe firmly in the process. I only do face-to-face teletherapy, as opposed to in-office treatment.

I draw upon 20 years of experience gained working in private practice, clinics, and long-term care facilities doing one-to-one psychotherapy, as well as couple and group therapy. I have worked with individuals of all ages, backgrounds, sexual preferences, and sexual identifications. I am clear that emotional issues do not discriminate and are not about a lack of willpower or intelligence. I am a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in New York and Connecticut. I do psychotherapy online to reach people who would not ordinarily be able to dedicate the time to treatment or who are unable to commute. Much of my focus is on building my client's strengths while decreasing symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and interpersonal challenges. I have spent much time supporting individuals who are facing difficult life transitions such as marriage, divorce, a new baby, sexual orientation/transitioning, college stressors, aging family members, geriatrics facing long-term care, grief, infidelity, abuse, chronic illness, and sports injuries just to name a few.

Giving Me Hope!

Working with Dr. Kristine has thus far been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had in recent years. After a long time of feeling stuck in every way, I have started to feel hope for myself, and I know that Dr. Kristine has hope for me too. We are battling through my anxiety and the underlying causes, and she has made it all seem not so scary. I am learning so much more (about myself and about how people's minds sometimes work) than I have with any other mental health professional. Her wealth of knowledge and experience shows daily, and she is the perfect balance of relatable and professional. I look forward to having her help me achieve my goals and to working together long-term!

Insightful, caring

I found Dr. Kristine Danback when I needed her the most. I was going through some family issues, and she helped me through a very tough time, and she zeroed in on the root cause of why I was feeling the way I was. If it weren't for her, I probably would've missed more days of work because I was really struggling to come up with the answers on my own, without help. Turns out I really needed the help. She helped me get out of bed and get on with my life.

Divorce Coaching

I hired Dr. Danback as a divorce coach as my friend used her through her high conflict divorce. She was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to support me, calm me, guide me, and teach me how to cope with a man who suffers from NPD. Men with NPD are very manipulative, and he was causing me to act and look crazy to everyone, especially in court. Due to Kristine's understanding of gaslighting, lying, cheating, and how someone with NPD will hurt the children to hurt the mom made me cope so much better with the traumatic divorce, I had to experience. She also educated my lawyer. She is truly someone who "gets it."

Family Mediation

Myself and my sister hired Dr. Danback to do family mediation with our parents. They were very stubborn with planning for the aging process and ensuring their finances were kept in the family and utilized in the best way. She wrote up a will and power of attorney for my parents and has given us the peace of mind that we desired.

Intuitive and Insightful!

Dr. Kristine Danback has been so supportive from the start and helped me immediately to feel better about a situation that I thought was hopeless. She really empathized with my situation and taught me that I have control over my emotions and life. Highly recommend!

Amazing!

I have had the pleasure of working with Kristine for about 9 months now. I am very thankful for the work that we're doing and the progress I've made. There are many areas of my life that I need to unpack, and I feel blessed to be doing that with her.

Compassionate

Dr. Danback is patient and compassionate. She intently listens and ensures that she understands what it is you're expressing. She's also very professional and yet very relatable, with a good sense of humor. I find her to be non-judgmental, and I find it easy to talk to her.

Awesome!

This is my very first experience with therapy. I must say Dr. Danback is understanding, honest, straightforward forward, and such a nice woman to talk to. I have no problems expressing myself to her. She made me feel comfortable straight out of the gate, and I can see great things in my future because of my time with her.
