I provide divorce coaching specifically to individuals who suspect their spouse has Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
I empower everyone I work with its the knowledge, tools, and courage to overcome life's transitions and challenges. I blend my education, training, empathy, and humor with my down-to-earth approach. I create a safe, empowering space.
I have three advanced degrees and additional certifications:
In addition to my clinical work, mediation and coaching, I publish and present on topics related to trauma, narcissistic abuse, self-care, development, empowerment, and parenting.
I have taught psychology at the university level, including Western Ct State University, Central Ct State University, and Sacred Heart University.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the States of New York, and Connecticut and an active member of various psychological associations, women's associations, and mediation and divorce organizations.
My approach to treatment is an interpersonal--relational psychotherapeutic approach and draws from my psychodynamic training, as well as the latest scientific research and evidence-based interventions to achieve goals decided upon in the treatment. I believe in managing the presenting problem, you must feel safe, not judged, and related to in a professional and personable manner. My approach is collaborative, and I value the connection and relationship that we co-create to help you make positive shifts in your life. I have great respect for the healing power of therapy and believe firmly in the process. I only do face-to-face teletherapy, as opposed to in-office treatment.
I draw upon 20 years of experience gained working in private practice, clinics, and long-term care facilities doing one-to-one psychotherapy, as well as couple and group therapy. I have worked with individuals of all ages, backgrounds, sexual preferences, and sexual identifications. I am clear that emotional issues do not discriminate and are not about a lack of willpower or intelligence. I am a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in New York and Connecticut. I do psychotherapy online to reach people who would not ordinarily be able to dedicate the time to treatment or who are unable to commute. Much of my focus is on building my client's strengths while decreasing symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and interpersonal challenges. I have spent much time supporting individuals who are facing difficult life transitions such as marriage, divorce, a new baby, sexual orientation/transitioning, college stressors, aging family members, geriatrics facing long-term care, grief, infidelity, abuse, chronic illness, and sports injuries just to name a few.
